March 25, 2015 | Hannah Community Center | East Lansing
This is a one-day intensive training for parks and recreation staff to begin accessibility review of all their parks and facilities for compliance with the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act Guidelines (ADAAG). Identified accessibility barriers will be used to develop a Transition Plan as required under the ADA. A Transition Plan is the first step in providing a formal plan of action for the removal of barriers. At the successful conclusion of the training, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Mark Trieglaff of ACT Services will conduct the day-long training. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the disability field, receiving a BA in Outdoor and Therapeutic Recreation as well as an MA in Parks and Recreation Administration from Illinois State University. Mark worked as Access Coordinator at Brookfield Zoo for 18 years, an access specialist at LCM Architects in Chicago for 7 years, as a Recreation Therapist at Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association and as Director of Disability Ministries at College Church in Wheaton.
