Advocacy Information

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association is a non-profit professional trade organization; the Association's 1,300 park and recreation professional, advocate, vendor, and agency members serve more than 4.3 million Michigan residents annually.

MRPA advocates state and federal policies that support essential parks and recreation services. The Association's Public Policy Committee monitors legislation related to parks, tourism and recreation issues, suggests positions to the Board of Directors and keeps the membership informed.
