A Pathway to a Healthier Michigan

MRPA recently received a grant from the Michigan Health Endowment to utilize public parks and recreation facilities to improve the health and fitness of Michigan’s citizens. Through this grant, MRPA will provide to selected local park and recreation departments resources such as equipment, programming resources and other tools to impact the health and fitness of youth, families and seniors. An agency can choose to implement the grant with all, a combination of all or with just one of the target populations. A detailed description of the program is below.

Thank you to the member agencies who submitted applications to partner with MRPA for A Pathway to a Healthier Michigan. MRPA received more than 50 requests to partner on the program; we are reviewing applications and hope to have partners identified by the end of April. Once the initial selections have been made, MRPA will work directly with your agency to help ensure successful implementation of the grant.
