2014-2015 Election

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Board election, and a special thank you to the candidates. Election Results: Sean Fletcher was elected President Elect and Carla Scruggs Board Member at Large. They will join President Jason Jones, Secretary/Treasurer Jeanette Williams, and Board Member at Large Clay Summers for the 2014/2015 cycle. The two Presidential appointees will be announced within the next month.


President Elect - Sean Fletcher, CPRP, AFO

  • Term of office for President Elect:  Transition into the role begins at the August 2014 Board meeting, with full installation at the Board Retreat in October.
  • The successful candidate will assume the office of President in August, 2015.
  • The term will continue in an ex-officio capacity as Immediate Past President for one year beginning in August, 2016. (The immediate Past President will chair the Nominations Committee and will represent the Association on the MRPA Foundation Board.)
  • Duties of this position include selection of the 2016 Conference Chair, serving in the absence of the President, working with the Board to establish priorities for the Association and fiscal oversight of the Association.

Board Member at Large - Carla Scruggs

  • The two year term begins at the August 2014 Board meeting, with full installation at the Board Retreat in October. 
  • Duties of this position include working with the Board to establish priorities for the Association, fiscal oversight and representation of the membership at large.

Election Timeline
  • The initial slate will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee and presented to the entire membership on or before June 10 with a final call for candidates. The application period for the initial slate closed on May 30.
  • Additional candidates may be placed on the slate until June 20 with a petition of at least 15 members in good standing. Application period for the final slate closed on June 20.
  • On Monday, June 23, the Secretary/Treasurer shall authorize the distribution of the official ballot to the eligible voting members. Elections will close at 5:00pm on July 8, 2014. The official announcement of election results will be on/or before July 15, 2014.
