The Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT), in partnership with Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC), launched the Pier Michigan website (www.piermichigan.org) to provide anglers information about the fishing locations supported through the GLFT grant program. The site is now expanding to provide more comprehensive information about shore-based Great Lakes angling locations in Michigan and we are looking for locations to include on the site as well as possible options for future grant funding.
The Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT) provides funding support to projects that create or enhance shore-based fishing access from Michigan’s Great Lakes shoreline or lower portions of major tributaries. Since the inception of the Trust in 1996, the GLFT has funded over 50 access-related projects. Additional information about the GLFT and our funding priorities is available online at www.glft.org.
GLFT will host an online webinar on June 18, 2013, from 2:00–3:00 PM to review the Pier Michigan website and the online collection form that was developed to help managing outlets submit their shore-based fishing locations for consideration.
