Executive Director
Dennis Schornack 
Dennis comes to MRPA with extensive governmental experience. From 2002 to 2007, he served under President Bush, as United States Chairman of the International Joint Commission, U.S. and Canada, a bi-national treaty organization established to prevent and resolve disputes over international water resources. He also served as the Commissioner on behalf of the United States for the International Boundary Commission, U.S. and Canada. From 1991 to 2002, he served as Senior Policy Advisor to Michigan Governor, John Engler. And from 1979 to 1991, he served as a Policy Advisor in the Michigan House of Representatives and then Legislative Assistant to the Senate Majority Leader. As executive director for MRPA, Dennis directs and manages statewide operations for the organization and its six regional groups, and oversees staff operations at the MRPA headquarters in Okemos, Michigan.
Business Manager
Tom Fraas 
Tom has served as the Business Manager since 2001 for MRPA. Before his time here, Tom has held a variety of business related positions with both large and small companies. Tom resides in Okemos with his wife and has three grown children. He has officiated many high school football and baseball games and holds an accounting degree from Western Michigan University.
Membership Director
Gail has been with MRPA since March 2008. As the MRPA Membership Director she enjoys the connection with members. She supports the following committees: Certification, Conference, Students, Seniors, Professional Development, and Diverse Cultures and is the Walk Michigan! coordinator. Her goal is to be a resource and/or link for all members to MRPA. On a personal note, she likes to spend time with her family, travel, garden, walk (that’s helpful being the Walk Michigan! Coordinator), and read.
Programs Director
Justin Lippe 
Justin is a certified parks and recreation professional who comes to MRPA after having served most recently as the Community Education Director for Charlotte Public Schools. He also worked as a Recreation Coordinator for Burlington P & R in Vermont and as a Recreation Programmer for Novi P & R after receiving his bachelor's degree in Recreation Management & Policy from the University of New Hampshire. Justin manages MRPA statewide programs and serves as the staff liaison to several committees. He is married and enjoys spending time with his wife and son
Communications Coordinator
Jessica Makolin 
Jessica began working at MRPA in November 2008. She received her bachelor’s degree in Advertising and a specialization in Public Relations from Michigan State University in December 2008. Jessica comes to MRPA after a year as an intern with the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports in Lansing. Originally from Ann Arbor, Jessica has grown to love Michigan State athletics and the Greater Lansing area. Jessica’s responsibilities at MRPA include content creation for the quarterly magazine and weekly eblast, media and sponsor relations, as well as marketing activities.
Administrative Associate
Shannon Sellers 
Shannon started with MRPA in April of 2007 as an administrative assistant/support staff member. Before working at MRPA she attended LCC pursuing her degree and also worked part time with Grand Ledge Public Schools as a teacher’s assistant and autistic aide. She is married and the proud mom of three young boys. In her free time, she enjoys running and of course spending time with her family. She provides support with the following: Athletics, Conference-Vendors, Professional Development, Park Resources, POW, Scholarship, Amusement Park Ticket program, Walk Michigan and the Mackinac trip.
Administrative Associate
Miranda Scripter 
Miranda started with MRPA in December 2007. She has varied professional experiences, and is currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Business at Lansing Community College. In her free time, Miranda enjoys reading, video games, music, and being outdoors – as long as there’s no snow on the ground. At MRPA, she provides support for the office as well as assisting in the administration of MDASA. She is a Haslett High School alumnus and is hoping to refresh her flute-playing skills in the near future.
Mackinac Island Trip Coordinator
Mary Winegar 
Mary has been working with MRPA on a part time basis for the past 6 years. She retired from the City of Lansing Parks and Recreation Department after 26 years of service. Currently she is in her 6th season as the Trip Coordinator for the MRPA Grand Hotel Mackinac Island Program. She enjoys the variety of programs and the great people that make MRPA such a great place to work.
